AN ODE TO STORYTELLING: enhancing the culture and experience of drinking with the ones you love. sláinte! (cheers!)
“dia dhuit” is used in much the same way as the english word 'hello', but is more literally translated as 'god bless you'.
this set is inspired by my family traditions and the rich, irish culture that my loved ones have shown me.
design goal.
IDEATION
designed to ease the preparations & allow you to relax with friends and family at your favorite local pub or basement bar:
4 parts coffee. 1 part whisky. 1 part cream. 2 spoons of sugar.
low cleaning time + lightweight design =
less components than an average irish coffee set.
how this works.
significance of 3.
made to serve 3 of your best pals. all on one plate.
why alcohol in coffee? why whisky?
process.
too loud. not intimate enough.
lightweight materials to carry across bar/pub/home.
more quality time with loved ones!
CREATION.
final 3d models

this set is created around the concept of a perfect conversation.
the Celts believed it was a representation of the three phases of life – youth, adulthood and old age. this set is made for all ages of people and designed to intertwine an intimate conversation between humans of different life experiences.
ideal for 3 people
one talks. two of them listen. only one responds, and the other doesn’t feel the need to respond. the conversation is fun, genuine, and intimate enough that no one feels left out.
2 people
rough 3d models
date night. too intimate.

ireland is the birthplace of whisky and has the 2nd highest level of alcohol consumption in the world. consumption of alcohol is a cultural norm; it is believed to have developed through religious customs of society. cheers to that.
designed for the user to reach across the tray, emphasizing a shared, family-like nature.
“dia dhuit” is used in much the same way as the english word 'hello', but is more literally translated as 'god bless you'.
with the set's waving arms and soul purpose of gathering the ones you love together, it is only fitting to name this after the irish phrase for “welcome, hello, come join us!”
INTO
for my grandpa and family, thank you for teaching me to greet others with a “welcome, hello, come join us!”.
